BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Scheduling and dispatching of activities to technicians, supporting them in the field

Considering over 4M citizens and 350 municipalities served in Italy, Hera Group represents a real giant in the Utility industry and is required to master the management and delivery of services and activities within various areas of operation, both timely and efficiently. However, performing regular inspections, maintenance, and support on so many assets may turn out to be challenging for Hera Group’s dispatchers, who have to punctually assign a huge number of activities to over a thousand field technicians and crews. Therefore, Hera Group needed a single system to support dispatchers to manage and automatically schedule single and multi-service maintenance activities on gas, water, and electricity assets, plants, and network sections. Besides, the solution had to allow field technicians to autonomously visualize and take charge of work orders from mobile and support them in the execution of maintenance activities through mobile forms.

OUR SOLUTION

Optimizing scheduling and empowering the execution of field activities

Hera Group opted for the OverIT NextGen Platform, the best-of-breed FSM solution, to optimize the scheduling and dispatching of activities to perform accurate and timely operations. Moreover, it gives complete support to field technicians when they need it.

  • Integration with third-party systems

Connection to SAP to import data about assets undergoing preventive maintenance

  • Automatic activity scheduling

Automatic scheduling of maintenance activities and related work orders to technicians according to territorial division parameters and service levels

  • Mobile application

Possibility for technicians to visualize and take charge of work orders, enter asset and meter-related data collected in the field from mobile and offline, as well as clock in and out on the move. Data transmission to back-office users and synchronization with SAP systems for validation and update purposes

  • Provision of workflows

Display of workflows, documents, multimedia files, and mobile forms in the field to support technicians in maintenance and installation activities.
